Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

As with any Jamba Juice, this place is kinda pricey but delicious. The staff isn't really friendly here though. Usually when I go to Jamba, the staff are very friendly and energetic...not the case in this instance.

We are updating our review because Jamba contacted us to make things right. Apparently they were going through a management change and that might be the reason for the poor or lack of training to their workers. We've decided to give them another chance and hope that we don't experience another bad time like the last.

Love the purely carrot juice, so refreshing. When I got there there were only two people taking orders and making drinks at the same time (Saturday around 4pm), so, expect a little bit of wait if store gets busy.

  • F Q.

The girl at the register was in beast mode and they messed up my order (straight from the menu/no add ons or anything tricky). It took forever to get my drinks so yeah, sorry if you're going to be an ass at leaSt be good at what you do..,

Some times there is a funky smell in there. Funky in an indistinguishable way. I think it's cleaner? It mixes with food smells and develops into a funk. And sometimes the employees don't seem happy to be there. There is nothing worse than fake enthusiasm delivered with sleepy eyes and a yawn. Yawn. I like the products, the dairy-free products anyway.

I live in Oak Brook area and most of the fast food places have great service, nice atmosphere, friendly.employees....but this place is the only one I will not give my business anymore! I've tried several times and each time I go here's what you get: employees who are not friendly or know what their doing, wait forever for a drink! Place is not so clean, they seem to fire random people who do not represent their business well at all! I never complain usually bit i felt that maybe the owner should rethink the way he runs his business! I know they wont get mine or any of my friends either

Jamba Juice is always good. You can count on it being consistent. Apparently, one thing you can not count on is a friendly person at the counter. Typically people are so nice, but at this location, the guy was not. He cut me off before I was done reading the too long name of the smoothie to tell me how much it was. Ha! Ok dude, whatever. Still good though!

Not sure what the hype is all about - these places were in Sand Diego where I lived back in the 90's. There's really nothing very healthy offered here - mainly because none of the sugar contents are shown on the menu boards. If everyone knew how much sugar were in their drinks and smoothies, they MIGHT think twice, but probably order it anyway. They only show calorie counts. Just because something is 'natural' doesn't mean it's healthy, the same holds true with being low calorie. And don't even get me started on nonfat - they ADD more sugar to foods whenever they eliminate something..... Unless you skip the addition of the sugary juices they add to make most of their drinks and smoothies - you are wasting your time. Plus, the sugary fruit and juices spike the glycemic level and make you hungrier which in turn makes you eat more and store more fat. What they need to offer is something where there is no juice added - and more proteins. I think I once had one smoothie with water and ice only, but to be honest, there was so much sugar in the fruit, it sort of defeated the purpose.

They make pretty good smoothies, but they are bit pricey. Do recommend joining the email sign up to get the good deals. Overall they make they pretty fast here granted when I visited the place wasn't busy. Moreover, it was fairly clean. So like that you can customize your own stuff and they list calorie content. Haven't try their snacks but they didn't look too appealing tho. Will return but no different than most jambs juice.

I used to hate the idea of this place till I tried the berry best and it completely changed my world!!! So good since my great experience I have expanded to trying new flavor smithies and juice all are great!!! I highly recommend giving this place a shot!

Rudest. People. Ever. No eye contact, poor customer service...overall, pretty poor display. After I waited two minutes to be greeted (one person walked up to the register and didn't even offer to help me), I was refused business because they couldn't break a $100 bill? Rude staff, unprofessional experience. I took my business to Subway and will never return again.

I walked into this Jamba Juice knowing there was no possible way they could they could have their Pumpkin Smash smoothie out yet...after all, it was the end of August. I asked when they were promoting it and they said October. I involuntarily made a pouty face and continued to scan through their menu to see what else would appeal to me. A couple minutes later, the woman said she had the ingredients to made the smoothie in the back and would be more than happy to accommodate me. I was beyond ecstatic! Their Pumpkin Smash smoothie is, by far, my favorite of all time. I ordered a medium and had a very happy jaunt back to my hotel room. They went above and beyond customer service standards and I will definitely be back to visit this location when I'm in the area again. Their friendliness and dedication to their customers is outstanding!

Don't be put off by all the teenagers, or the weird smell.... The parking lot may be small and weird, but the staff here are friendly. It is indeed very disappointing-- and frustrating-- that the orange juice machine is shut down an hour before close (NOTE THIS ON THE MENU for goodness sakes!). Luckily, they were nice and made our OJ at 8:10 on a Saturday. While this place is expensive, it's yummy and the drinks have fun names. It's great that they post the calorie count on the menu. I also got a scratch off, which got us "buy-1-get-1"-- super! The cashier promised me that the seasonal pumpkin drink is "life changing"-- so we'll be back!

This Jamba is consistent with the quality that you expect from them in general. They are always friendly and great at taking care of my order in a timely manner. Have ha some great conversations with some of the employees before. Will continue to come back to this location.

Mango-go-go for breakfast every day!! That's how I roll. Well until I go broke from my guilty pleasure and until I have to start hitting up the gym three times a day to burn the 300 calories from it. :) BUT come on, I can't help it. Once it hits your lips, its SO GOOD! Um, and yea I didn't know that you could sign up for the mailing list and get coupons, thanks Candice.

  • Karla B.

Poor service as I was waiting another customer stepped in front of me and cashier Breana looked at me as I wait... Didn't say anything to the people that rudely made their way up to the register nor did she bother to apologize. As for the smoothie... No complaints.

    (1)
  • Candice G.

Because I love empty calories, that's why. And because if you sign up for their mailing list they'll frequently send you coupons for buy one get one free smoothies. I'll admit that I won't go here unless I have a coupon because it is all sugar and not very good for you but with the coupons it is totally worth the trip. The staff are friendly and they move the line pretty quickly... well actually, when I went in last Thursday there was no line, so score! Plus, now you can get smoothies that are (supposedly) all fruit... and I will believe them because it's hot out and I want to.

I swear working in Oakbrook Terrace is just baaaad for my wallet. We're lucky that we have a McDonalds in my town (okay, maybe i'm over-exaggerating) but we don't have these kinda places near me. Now that I'm oh-so-cool and working in OBT, which has endless food and dessert options, I'm just starting to go broke. I don't think you could order anything bad here unless you're slightly picky or have a food allergy. I'm a girl that eats any and everything, so I usually just pick whatever name is the funnest (yes, i said funnest) to say. My go-to is the Acai berry smoothie--pronounce it ah--sigh-eee to save yourself some embarrassment. Now that it's that time of year, they have their Eggnog and Pumpkin smoothies- both equally delicious. Say "make it light" and they'll dock on 50 cents but save you a few hundred calories that you could use on Red Mango. God, I'm glutenous.

Staff is friendly and nice. Juices are great, if I want a light lunch or to avoid the heavy food options around, I'll come here for a protein infused smoothie.

I frequent this Jamba enough to know that they could use another employee or two. The end product is always great but I feel like they are always short staffed.

Generally I love Jamba Juice. However I was very disappointed with the staff in this location. I went at 8:05pm and they already shutdown the fresh squeezed orange juice machine. They are open till 9pm. It was way too early to shutdown on a Friday night.

I only give this place 2 becasue for me I dont really feel like this place should be in business.Although its very clean and everyone is friendly. They make it out to be a healthy choice but its not.I always have been a hater of this place but never really tried it.One night after working out one of my friends asked it I wanted to hit up Jamba I agreed (not happily).I hate sweet shit so I decided to order the green tea thingy I forget what its called. After a sip or 2 my cheeks were sucked in from the sweetness and my tongue stopped working. I asked him to try it and see what he thought and he said if I were to drink anymore I would be in need of an insulin shot! So that sums it up in two words INSULIN SHOT

Fruit, Yogurt/Sorbet, Juice and Ice in a Blender ... The recipe is simple and the smoothies are D-LISH! Service with a smile and special treatment if they recognize that you've been there a few times before =)

I love Jamba Juice's product, but can't figure out why people don't blink at spending $6 for a tall cup of blended juice and water. I'll only buy there when on my expense account and looking for something somewhat healthy to tide me over to a regular meal. They have nothing to eat other than energy bars and pretzels. Sorry, wheat grass doesn't count.

  • Marissa G.

The employees are always nice and upbeat which I completely appreciate, if they make too much they give you the bigger size no charge, a little cramped but aren't they all. Has anyone tried to order the secret menu here and do they oblige?
